This is the story of a totally analog grandfather who is given a smartphone on Christmas Eve, what can happen? Something totally unpredictable, or not so much knowing the love and devotion of grandparents towards their grandchildren. The truth is that this Christmas, with the current health and economic crisis, the celebration will be different. Still, we must not forget that this is a very special time of year for everyone, even in difficult times. Therefore, it is more than necessary that this holiday season strengthen ties and connections with our loved ones . More than ever. This is the message that Orange France wanted to send with its Christmas spot under the slogan: "What if this year we make memories together with Orange gifts?" Dubbed 'Unicorn Grandad', this campaign has been developed together with Publicis Conseil.
In it, a bewildered grandfather wonders what he is going to do with the gift his granddaughters gave him , a smartphone that he doesn't know how to use. One day, her Phone Number List granddaughter sends her a photo of herself with a unicorn filter . From that moment on, the spot shows her an extraordinary mission: alone in her workshop, she will cut, paint, sew, cut and shape to create something truly amazing. Her perseverance and her limitless imagination will help him keep in touch with her granddaughter, in her homely way and thanks to her new mobile phone. This modern tale, directed by Vincent Lobelle, shows us how new technologies can be used in times like these to stay in touch and create memories with our loved ones. On social and digital channels, we will see the funny grandfather in increasingly humorous situations to promote Orange's offers and services.
In addition to this digital content, created by the Marcel agency, a “unicorn” filter will be made available to users on Instagram and Facebook . This will be complemented by a print (press and OOH) and DOOH campaign produced in collaboration with talented set designer Solinne D'Aboville and photographed by Vincent Dousserez.
